Civil engineering firm Graham has secured a place on Northern Ireland (NI) Water’s Integrated Partnerships Framework Lot 3.
To support the delivery of the proposed water and sewerage capital investments, NI developed the strategic IF105 Integrated Partnerships Framework.
This framework comprises three multi-party Lots – Lot 1 Water and Sewerage Infrastructure Works worth £240m; Lot 2 Water and Sewerage Non-Infrastructure Works worth £240m; Lot 3 Water and Sewerage Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure Works worth £1.2bn.
Running for an initial four-year term, it will carry extension options for another four years in all.
Under the framework, Graham will provide a range of maintenance and investment projects on water and sewerage infrastructure and non-infrastructure across the assets of NI Water.
Graham will join contractors BSG Civil Engineering, DLJ JV, Farrans Glan Agua JV, GEDA Construction and J Murphy/Dawson WAM JV in delivering projects on Lot 3.
Graham contracts director for civil engineering PJ McCaffery said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a place on this prestigious framework with our long-term client Northern Ireland Water. Our focus will be to work in partnership to drive greater efficiencies and value for NI Water through first class project management and delivery.”
The framework award comes after an ongoing portfolio of work, worth more than £20m, being delivered for NI Water by Graham’s Civil Engineering division.
Currently, the projects in progress include maintenance and improvement works to several wastewater treatment works and pumping stations, replacement of pumping mains, Newpoint WwPS SWELL Project Carlingford Lough and an upgrade of Drumaroad Water Treatment Works in Castlewellan.
Recently, the firm was awarded improvement works for Faughan RWPS and Weir.
McCaffery added: “We have enjoyed a strong partnership with NI Water for many years now and are currently involved in various enhancement, maintenance and upgrade schemes across the country. The award of this Integrated Partnerships Framework Lot will further strengthen our relationship and provide a great opportunity to showcase our wide-ranging civil engineering expertise, innovation and collaboration skills in the water sector.”
